The detail view is made up of the record's Subscription Tab and events that the subscription is listening to, the Logs Tab, and the Testing Tab.

Available actions, subject to permissions, are:

| “TEST AUTHENTICATION” | Uses the saved details to attempt to connect to the email server. A pop-up will be displayed showing the results of the connection attempt. |
| “FINISH EMAIL SETUP” Button | On the creation of a new record, or the updating of an existing record's SMTP details, this button is displayed. Clicking it starts the validation process, see below. |
| “EDIT SUBSCRIPTION” Button | This will Edit the record. |
The following steps show how to validate the email server settings that have been saved against an Email subscription.
1) Click on the “FINISH EMAIL SETUP” button. The following pop-up dialogue box is displayed.
2) Enter your email address into the “Destination Email Address” text box and click “OK”.
Alternatively click “CANCEL” to close the pop-up and terminate the process.
3) SmarterPay Cloud will attempt to send an email using the SMTP details.
4a) If SmarterPay Cloud was able to connect to the email server, using the details provided, a successful message will be displayed. You can proceed to step 5.
4b) If there is an issue with the email server settings or the email server an error will be displayed.
Please rectify the issue and try again.
5) Check your email inbox, or junk folder, for the email that SmarterPay Cloud sent out.
6) Click on the “Activate Now” link, which will open SmarterPay Cloud in your default web browser. You may need to login to SmarterPay Cloud, if you are not already logged in on your default web browser.
7) If there are no issues in activation you will be redirected back to the subscription with a confirmation message.
Note: A redirect to the default landing page (Overview) indicates there was an issue trying to validate the subscription, for example an old email link being used.
The Logs tab shows the emails, and the containing Event(s), that are in the system.
By default, all of the emails for the subscription are shown, with the latest at the top of the list. This list can be filtered.
The Event History tab can be used to view more information on the status of the email.
The Event Body tab can be used to view the email, by clicking on “Preview Message”.
