Release Notes - 2026

The following enhancements have been made to SmarterPay Cloud

• Mandate Dormancy added to System Settings.
  • When enabled will disable Mandates that have had no activity (DD Payments) for over 24 months.
• Discard lines from File Upload.
  • You can now remove lines from uploaded files without having to discard, modify and re-upload the file.
• Bureau Profile added to Service User Numbers.
  • Service User Numbers can now be assigned to Bureaus for submissions.
• Support Profiles added for Invite Support User.
  • To make it easier you can now only select “Support Read/Write” or “Support Readonly” when inviting Support Users.

We will be deploying a security update to the Live environment on Sunday, 12th July 2026, at approximately 09:00 (BST). During the deployment, there will be a brief period of disruption while the portals are switched over. Otherwise, no significant interruptions are expected.

This update introduces several enhancements designed to improve both user experience and security, including:

• Single Sign-On (SSO) Integration, enabling users with multiple client accounts to access all linked accounts with a single login.
• All users will be required to reset their passwords upon first login following the update.
• Your infrastructure team will be able to create the necessary Enterprise applications to enable SSO functionality. (If required)
• Enhanced Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) options for customers not using SSO, including text, app, and email authentication.
• Improvements to user auditing and login management.

Please note that no data will be lost during this update. All existing logins will be merged into one account based on email address, ensuring continuity and ease of access.

    • Replaced “New User” functionality with Invite user and Invite Support User functionality.
    • Added Profile Name to User List View.
    • Added Pending Invites List to User List View.
    • Added Support Users List to User List View.
    • Removed “Send Password Reset Link” action from user Detail View.
    • Replaced “Revoke Two-Factor Authentication” action with “Reset MFA” action on user Detail View.
    • Removed “Username”,“Alias” and “Send Password Setup Email?” from user Edit View.

    • Added Identity Provider (Used for SSO).
    • Removed “Password Expiration” settings.
    • Removed “Disable On Inactivity” settings.

• API
  • Endpoints changed for OAuth

SmarterPay have added functionality to support customer signed files

• Service User Numbers, and the Client Bank Accounts associated with them, can now be managed from the Portal.
  • New permission, “Add/Edit SUNs/Client Bank Accounts”, option added to Profiles for all client types.
  • “Sign Files”, “Send Files” and “Collect Reports” permission options added to Profiles for direct submitter clients.
• Import Profiles now support “0” approvers, giving an “auto-approve” function.
• Changes made to Submissions to allow for the signing and sending using Bacs Smart Cards.
• Options added to Bacs Reports to allow the synchronisation and downloading of reports.
• ISCD Whitelist / Blacklist menu item added to manage ISCD allow/deny lists.

SmarterPay have added Confirmation of Payee functionality

• Confirmation of Payee Check added to the Portal.
• Bank Account Check added to the API.

SmarterPay are pleased to announce the release of a new File Utility companion application.
The application will monitor a directory on a local pc and upload files into Smarterpay Cloud.

Backend, non-customer facing, API changes have made to support the new application.

Backend performance improvements. No change to API functionality.

• Fixed an issue with cancelling Mandates also marking all payments as cancelled, regardless of current status.
  
• Fixed an issue with incorrect email validation on customer account creation.

DDICA Cancellation reports are now processed, and will mark the payment as successful.

Added OAuth authentication for Microsoft email servers to Email subscriptions.

Improved calculations for collection dates for DC Credits and DD Payments created over a weekend.

Improved calculations for collection dates for DC Credits and DD Payments created outside of Bacs hours.
